The 55th National Day Celebration
The 55th National Day of Nigeria was celebrated with much splendour and enthusiasm at The Livingsprings Schools, Lekki on 30th September 2015, a day before the actual Independence Day Anniversary. The celebration highlighted our rich culture and history. The ceremony started at 10 am in the School assembly area with parents, staff and pupils. The Executive Director, Mrs. Abosede Obayomi, welcomed the gathering and declared the event opened.
The pupils, staff and parents sang in unison the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. This was followed by a brief history of Nigeria by Mr. Peter Adewale. The pupils from Pre-School sang the Patriotic Song that awakened everyone’s feelings towards our fatherland. The Lower Grade School pupils were not left out as they danced to cultural songs. There was drama presentation from Grade 4 pupils and quiz competition for parents directed by the Headteacher, Mr. Henry Osundairo. At the end of the programme, parents went to classes and ate food from different parts of Nigeria. Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to experience peace and unity in diversity.
Once again, we invite you to re-live this beautiful day through the glamorous pictures of the event in our photo gallery (see main menu).
Thank you.
